America Paz is a Chilean bass player who boasts a sound that’s incredibly funky and nostalgic.
In one of her latest offerings, she demonstrates exactly how to use a talkbox with a bass guitar. Proving funk is still alive, she manipulates her voice using the talkbox pedal and it’s amazingly catchy. Watch below.
A  talkbox is an effects unit that allows musicians to modify the sound of a musical instrument. Using the pedal and mouth piece you can shape the frequency content of the sound an apply speech sounds onto the sounds of the instrument.
