Hedy’s daughter Molly, who captured the moment, said that her mom is “the most caring, selfless person I personally have ever known … She is truly my hero.”The total solar eclipse was a once-in-a-lifetime event for many people. But for Hedy Morrison of Nashville, Tennessee, the highlight of the experience was that she got to spend it with her elderly father.
On August 17, Hedy’s dad turned 93. That birthday alone was an incredible achievement for Will Roberts. His hospice caretakers didn’t think he’d reach it, but it seemed he was determined to live to see one more unbelievable sight. As the eclipse approached, Hedy gathered four generations to witness the surreal event.

“Four years ago he had a stroke. He hasn’t been able to talk in four years but he’s the most patient, sweet, loving man in the whole wide world,” Hedy said of her father.
Since then, Hedy has been taking care of her dad. And the eclipse was no different.

As the moon began to cover the sun, she gently tilted his wheelchair back so he could see.

“It was unbelievable. It was pretty special he got to see it and we got to see it together.”

It’s so wonderful that Hedy has been able to take care of her father since his stroke. She truly understands the importance of long standing gestures.
